Playing with colorblocking

I can’t remember how I stumbled upon it but I came upon this tutorial for a boxy tee and felt compelled to make it! It’s just the thing I like – comfortable and loose but still with some interesting details.

This is my version. A pleasant shade of neon yellow was nowhere to be found in Chinatown (only the garish type!), but while checking out some light grey linen, I found this lemony yellow.

This fabric is Belgian linen, it wasn’t the cheapest. But It’s really lovely and soft, so no regrets!

I added some yellow topstitching to echo the yellow sleeves.

I did find the sleeves a little tight under the arm, so I made another version, adding an inch to the sleeve piece. The sleeves were also lengthened so that I could have a turn up cuff. This time, the topstitching was in navy which helps it to stand out more.
